We provide the following programs for Children
WECAN Infant Group
For children aged 0-2 years who particularly have delayed motor skills. Sessions run from 10am-12pm each Monday. parents attend the group with their children. All childen are referred and need to meet ECIS (Early Childhood Intervention Service) criteria.
WECAN Early Intervention Playgroup
For 1-3 1/2 year olds is run once weekly. sessions run each Thursday from 9:30am-11:00am or 12:30pm-2:00pm. Parents attend Playgroup sessions with their child. All children are referred and need to meet ECIS criteria.
WECAN Pre-Kindergarten Group
A program designed specifically for children with a disability or developmental delay. The unique quality of WECAN Pre-Kindergarten group is the involvement of typically developing children who also attend sessions. Sessions run from 9:30am-11:30am or 1:00pm-3:00pm each Friday.
Transition Support
Transition support into 4 year old kinder or school settings is also provided as needed.
Small Groups
Small groups are developed through the year to support child and family needs. They are open to children of all ages. Parents attend with their children for 1 1/2 hours sessions. Days and session times vary each year.
Referral
All Referrals for children with additional needs are made through Gippsland Early Childhood Intervention Central Intake Ph: 1800 783 783. Parents, Therapists, Maternal and Child Health Nurse or others can make a referral with the family's permission. Referrals will be reviewed with families regarding ECI eligibility. Links are made to services families nominate.
